We’re at the midpoint of the year! I am grateful for the good things I have been a part, plus what is coming up this summer and fall. Here’s a few of them.

JANUARY
  • I was asked to direct our fall national conference. Our creative region began working on theme, speakers, schedule, price, hotel and more.
FEBRUARY
  • Two churches completed our 3-year disciplemaking process. Both had to make a disciple in their vision statements but had no way of accomplishing it. They are now equipped to live it out.
  • JERRY pastors one of these churches — Since we began discipleship triads there has been much enthusiasm at Trinity.  The culture change is evident in expressions of mutual support and encouragement to continue our daily meditation on Scripture and prayer.  The Holy Spirit is at work transforming us into active discipleship.  We have formed three new triads since the first of the year.  One leader invited a friend who has no church into her group.  This is something new for us.  This demonstrates the importance of relationship for discipleship.  Another leader has convinced his unchurched brother to begin reading scripture and praying daily.
JUNE
  • My present ministry includes: serving as the Great Lakes Regional Leader, 7 life & leadership coach clients, 3 congregations in our three-year disciplemaking process, a Bible Study on Tuesdays for a local church, 6 congregations being influenced and discipling a 21-year-old youth leader.
  • MATT is one of my coach clients — Coaching has helped me to see the value of having and effectively communicating a plan. I am realizing that people don’t move from spectators to active participants without a plan of attack to get them in the game, and this plan needs to be rehearsed and repeated over and over again if it is actually to make a difference. I’ve had so much fun beginning to reorganize my time towards developing planned entry points and tangible growth markers for the adult volunteers at our church. Already, I can see our leaders feeling more empowered and engaged with Christ and kids.
  • Launching our conference website for “EXCEL” after five months collaborating and strategizing with our region and national directors. See it at  regonline.com/excel2018
  • I head to Colorado for two weeks of training. I’ve been invited into the Navigators Leadership Develop Initiative. The second week I’ll be equipped at our Coach Camp to be re-certified as a life coach.
SEPTEMBER – I am looking forward this fall to:
  • starting a new disciplemaking training in Akron
  • pastor’s small group for westside of CLE with my friend Randy Nickel
  • starting three churches in our 3-year disciplemaking process
  • leading a coach approach workshop called the Deep Dive for Freshwater Church in Wadsworth.
  • SEAN is a pastor at Freshwater – After experiencing the Deep Dive this past fall I knew right away it was something my discipleship team could benefit from. The Deep Dive equips, motivates, and develops coaching skills of listening, asking the question and initiating next steps. That taps people’s deepest motivators, which leads to empowered action. I cannot wait for my team to experience it this Fall.
OCTOBER – The national conference I’m leading, “EXCEL” runs in Dallas!

I would value your prayers for the Kingdom to advance through these endeavors! Join my prayer team here.
