I am preparing for the launch of two congregations in our disciplemaking process Growing intentional Disciplemaking Culture or GiDC. Here’s the details as I get ready.
Here’s the present situation:
+ 2 NALC pastors from Southern OH. They are smaller churches led by younger pastors, one in his first call. …Great guys and capable leaders.
+ They’ve finished their Life and Leadership Coaching and are through chapter three in the Alongsider.
+ They have there LLTs chosen, after praying for them, discussing with me and reading the selecting an LLT document in our training.
+ I chose the Cluster format for a couple reasons. The churches are about 40 minutes away from each other. So, travel for them won’t be a problem. I like the learning that can happen between churches. I saw this in our previous Clusters when Bill, Lou and I led them. It also saves me a bunch of time, since they are two and a half hours away. I can take care of both, maximizing my time.
My Prep:
+ I’m having them all read “The Tyranny of the Urgent.” This is a new twist for me. I like it because it will challenge these LLTs to prioritize and focus on Jesus and disciplemaking.
+ I am purchasing the Alongsider and bringing the Invitation booklets as a service to them and keeping it cheaper. For $20 they can walk away with both books.
The Agenda:
- Vision & GC – 30m
- Train Assessment – 1hr
- Invitation – 1:30-2hr
- Team Building – 1:30hr
- Final thoughts – 15m
Here’s the documents that helped me form the Cluster meeting.
